Q. DNA shows hyperchromicity on

  • (A) cooling
  • (B) replication
  • (C) heating
  • (D) crystallizing

Explanation by: Admin
When a DNA solution is heated enough, the doublestranded DNA unwinds, & the Hydrogen bonds that hold the two strands together weaken & finally break. The hyperchromicity of DNA occurs when the DNA duplex is denatured. The process of breaking a double-stranded DNA into single strands is known as DNA denaturation, or DNA melting.
