The Battle of Kanauj was fought between Mughal Emperor Humayun and Sher Shah Suri (Sher Khan) of the Sur Empire. The battle took place on 17 May 1540. It was the 2nd battle between both of them as they have been involved in Battle of Chausa one year before the battle of Kannauj.
